Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the study guide provided by the teacher for the upcoming test. Similar to the previous session in regards to subject matter (dynamics in 2D, projectile motion, some relative motion). We finished with some questions out of my college physics textbook."
"The student & I went over inequalities, both solving and graphing. We also went over her quiz. Next time we will go over her unit test, and we will also go over the start of her new unit so that she has a clear understanding of it."
"The student and I continued to work on all aspects of the test, with particular emphasis on vocabulary. He studied the roots/prefixes/suffixes and they seem to have helped him. His recognition of difficult vocabulary words that feature these building blocks definitely improved. We continued to discuss test day strategies. I feel confident that he is ready for the exam."
"We began this evening with a brief overview to provide me with information regarding the student's current status and her goals. The goals included raising, and maintaining, her grades in biology and algebra. Additionally, she would like to work on overall study habits. We specifically worked on solving simultaneous equations by substitution and elimination. We went through her worksheet and also worked through additional problems in the textbook. By the end of the evening, the student seemed to grasp and understand the concept well and worked through many of the problems with little difficulty."
"The student had a great session on Monday. He had already completed his homework for the evening, so we used the time to get a jump start on his Literature homework for the week. We read the story of Gilgamesh, answering comprehension questions along the way and outlining the passages we read. The student remained very focused throughout and did very well with the comprehension portion of our exercises. From his note taking, I could see that spelling and grammar are two areas that he can definitely improve upon. I look forward to working with him again tomorrow and to his continued progress."
"We covered a review of intro Spanish (meeting people phrases, alphabet, numbers, and colors.) We also practiced grammar."
