Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed homework assignment on difficult algebra expressions with trig functions. We will continue to study for his next test"
"The student and I covered permutations and combinations in much detail. She picks up on the material very quickly."
"We finished our trig tutoring today with a review of parametric equations. The student is now ready for his final exam."
"Today the student and I worked on converting to logarithmic and exponential form. He retained most of the information from last week and we were able to move to more challenging problems. We solved logarithms for variables, which sometimes involved the cubed root or 4th root of a number. He needs more practice on prime factorization. He can break the number down to prime numbers, but has trouble figuring out what goes outside/inside the radical."
"We reviewed fractions, exponents, and manipulation of equations, all of which are concepts that are covered in the student's spring break packet. When I brought up fractions, she immediately hesitated and said that she wasn't good at them; however, throughout the review, and after a few practice problems, I think she was refreshed enough to be more confident in that area. She showed progress with the manipulation of equations, even when I added fractions to the equations."
"We worked on adding, subtracting, and dividing decimals in both the dividend and divisor. We worked on subtracting numbers from zero. We worked on decimal numbers that were evenly divisible and those that had a remainder. We watched strategy videos. The student was engaged and seemed to grasp the concepts. He was assigned homework to do. He will need to improve his multiplication and counting skills so that he can work out the answers more quickly."
