Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered exponent and log rules. This was a continuation of last Monday's lesson. This stuff still wasn't down pat yet in the student's head. He was getting it back by the end."
"Homework problems. Reviewed vectors, cross product, dot product, and how to find orthogonal vectors."
"In today's session, we exclusively worked on pre-calculus in preparation for the student's test the following day. Additionally, she will be doing more practice problems/passages outside of our sessions to allow her to ask more questions during our time together. For her test tomorrow, we worked on trigonometry and graphing of oscillatory functions by hand. We went through all the problems on the review that she wanted to cover."
"We went over the unit's practice test on polar coordinates and complex numbers. The student answered some questions involving graphing r or theta equations. She understands how to graph polar functions by using her graphing calculator and manually. We reviewed converting between rectangular and polar coordinates and equations. The test also included complex number expressions and converting to polar equations, etc. We reviewed some of the material yesterday, so she was able to recall Pascal's Triangle and how to simplify I to higher powers. We completed the practice test and will start conics next week!"
"The student and I continued our work with triangles this week by finishing up her latest homework packet. We then discussed a few topics she will review prior to her quiz next week. Then, we spent a few of the remaining minutes on her midterm packet. We will pick up there next week. She is doing very well, and she really enjoys working on the whiteboard and is quickly grasping trigonometric concepts."
"The student and I worked on review for his upcoming semester final. His only struggle was remembering how to approach problems that he learned about at the beginning of the year. After helping him get the problems set up, he did very well with the material. I spoke with him the next day and he said he feels very confident about his preparation for the exam."
