"Reviewed topics of product rules, double and half angle formulas, product-to-sum formula, sum to product formulas. Note: Will take midterm in late-July."
"We began work on preparation for college Algebra and Trigonometry by going over those problems that she struggled with on her recent ACT."
"We reviewed exponent rules and the concept of radians by completing practice problems. We then began learning about radicals. First we wrote down the square of every number from one to ten. Then we went over two rules. The first was that the nth root of a number to the nth power was just the original number. The next was a product rule that allows you to separate the product of two numbers under a radical into the product of the two numbers under two separate radicals."
"We worked on problems from a practice set for an lengthy, standardized test the student has this week. Additionally, she has a quiz this week. Some of the concepts overlap, but some do not. Overall, one of her strengths is working a problem through once it's set up. I think more practice setting up problems and learning which rules to follow will help her feel more confident. She has a few practice problems left for the test, and I left her with a few general concepts to review that the test seemed to focus on."
"We finished trig word problems, and then we looked over the unit circle. He is a very bright student and had no conceptual trouble. I left him with homework to complete to review for the upcoming test, and as many discussion points as possible."
"This week we looked at some of the student's physics work, focusing on rotational energy and momentum. We also looked back to previous physics concepts and made sure she has a full understanding."
