Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today was our first session, and it went really well! We worked on his homework together, specifically his spelling and reading homework. He had a double-sided worksheet going over how to use suffixes. We went over past and present tense and the importance of consonants and vowels when changing the endings of verbs to -ed, -ing, -able, etc. and in doing so, we discussed the differences between adjectives, nouns, and verbs. We then created sentences using words with suffixes and went over what those sentences meant. In future sessions, I hope to work on building the student's confidence with reading and writing so that we can work on reading comprehension strategies!"
"The student read from a book on John F. Kennedy. He read for a sustained amount of time without making any errors, and was able to figure out new vocabulary words. We practiced similar words with different endings like politic, political, and politician."
"We finished level N books. Level O books are noticeably more difficult for her. We will need to work on deciphering new vocab. Her goal is to read 2 books before next week. We also worked on math skills. She is getting really good at number sets and understanding multiplication concepts."
