Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the main focus was inverse functions, finding equations for them, tangent lines, derivatives of inverse functions and range + domain."
"We discussed inverse functions and solving equations with log and natural logarithm functions. We also discussed finding vertical and horizontal asymptotes."
"Today we did more volume integration by disks, shells, and washers, and focused on the difference between each method."
"We decided to start new material. The first section we covered was determining the maxima of a function over a specified range. The student did not appear to have any problems with this because we had done similar problems in the past. Her algebra was a little shaky at times but other than that I am satisfied with her performance on the practice problems. The second topic we covered was implicit differentiation. We did not spend a lot of time on it but she seemed to understand it well."
"Today we continued to review for the unit 5 test. We discussed study techniques and outlined the topics that would be covered. We looked at ways to remember the integrals of inverse trig functions. We also discussed particle movement. I believe the student will do very well on the test if she has enough time."
"We went over a review sheet that was given to the student to prepare for her second exam. Her exam will be over finding critical points, concavity, and using these concepts in optimization problems. She seemed quite anxious about the exam, so I gave her a few techniques on how to cope with test anxiety."
