Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to prepare for the student's test by going over review packets her teacher had provided online."
"We worked through the homework I left, and I assigned a few problems to work with before our practice test on Saturday."
"The student and I covered linear equations, identifying slope and y-intercept and solving for y. He struggled slightly with the amount of steps required to solve an equation, but this will get better with practice. I left him with practice problems that we will go over next session."
"We started the session by reviewing the student's homework on graphing absolute values and inequalities on a number line. We also practiced a few equations that involved long division and fractional expressions. We finished by reviewing for the student's physics exam. We specifically focused on understanding mechanical, potential, and kinetic energies. We also did a quick review of the relationships between force, work, and power."
"The student and I were still working on rational numbers. We reviewed GCF and LCD and operations with fractions and factoring polynomials. He took quizzes on multiplying and dividing rational numbers and got 100's and got a 100 on his mid-unit as well. We will do addition and subtraction of rational numbers next session."
"Today, we worked on coordinates and how to determine if a two lines were parallel or perpendicular based on their slopes. We also covered how to determine the equation for a line when given multiple choice and plugging in the x-y coordinates to find the one that matches. Toward the end, we talked about biology a little bit and went over some study techniques and started making flash cards."
