Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I discussed solving summation equations, linear and recursive. In addition, we also ran through a dozen or so sample AP Biology problems, on a variety of different topics."
"Today, we went over the student's conics review, as well as parametric equations and polar graphs. The student worked hard, and we managed to get through most of the review."
"We reviewed the student's homework covering parametric equations and how to convert equations to and from polar and Cartesian coordinates. She has a test tomorrow so we spent most of the time working through practice problems to help her study. I will continue to work with her so that we can build a strong foundation for this class."
"We covered the law of sines as well as the graphing of trig functions. I showed the student the best approach to handling the law of sines and applying the equation with the best information from what was available. With the graphing of the trig functions, he needs to gain a better understanding of what the original functions look like in order to incorporate any shifting that might become necessary. Once I showed him how to approach the problems, he seemed to understand the process of what needed to be done. He has a test that he will be able to make up and we will attempt to meet again just before to review what will be on it."
"In preparation for the student's upcoming test, we covered all the topics through review. We focused on domain restrictions and angular/linear velocity, which she was having the most trouble with. She felt more comfortable approaching the test the next day."
"This week we covered the law of cosines and law of sines, using both to complete triangles and solve triangle-related word problems. The student was very comfortable with the content. We also looked at methods to solve "challenge problems" assigned by the teacher."
