Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on his current homework, multiplying polynomials by monomials, and reviewing the math for an entrance exam."
"Today's session went well. We went over factoring and prime numbers. Prepared for the upcoming quiz that she has today. Will finish going over the homework packet for our next session."
"During our session, the student and I worked on solving linear and quadratic equations, as well as inequalities."
"The session went well. We covered linear equations homework. We will meet again tomorrow, because the student has his final exam on Monday."
"We worked on a review sheet for the student's upcoming exam. The material covered simplifying rational equations, multiplying and dividing exponents, reducing fractions and rationals, and solving the quadratic equations. She got hung up on a few problems that were confusing to her. I showed her how to solve or reduce the individual parts of the part to simplifying the process, instead of trying to do everything at once. This helped her see what it took to complete the problems. By the end of the session, she was very happy with her accomplishments. She had a much better understanding of the processes needed to solve the problems. During the session she didn't know the quadratic formula, by the end she was reciting it with ease. If she takes her time she should perform very well."
"The student and I worked on more word problems using systems of two equations and two unknowns. The student is better at being able to set up the problems and is careful to define her variables and include units for her answers. She also creates a table for each problem to keep track of information and to help make her equations. The student has a test on Thursday and Friday; she said that she feels prepared for the test. We went over some of the formatting issues she has had in the past. We then went through a few systems of three equations problems since the student said that she sometimes has trouble with those. She did very well with the ones we did."
