"The student and I are focusing on critical reading. Since time management is a primary concern, we used the flashcards to ascertain shortcuts for single- and double-blank sentence completion. The student is learning to spot strategically placed synonyms/antonyms in single-blank sentences and is beginning to abandon his former strategy of process of elimination to two good answers in favor of going with his first instinct, which is becoming steadily more reliable."
"Today we covered reading and math in the study guide. The student is now very good at reading passages and answering the accompanying questions. Her timing has also improved a lot. We will continue working on the vocab section of the critical reading portion of the exam by doing practice problems, defining difficult words and fitting them into the context of the question. I would suggest reviewing those vocab words from her flashcards to improve this even more. In math, the student is improving on solving geometry questions more quickly and accurately."
"I met with the student and talked with her and her mom regarding their goals. I then went over practice problems with her, primarily in math and critical reading, in order to gauge where she is at. She is quick in math and showed the ability to figure out problems. She is showed proficiency in pre-algebra and simple geometry as well. We also went over a little grammar in the writing section, which she was able to do relatively well."
