Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on his homework. We discussed area between two curves and functions of multiple variables. The student seems to do well by getting a lot of practice with the problems."
"We worked through the student's homework before reviewing the last exam. At one point he proved me right when I said that he could "do [these antiderivatives] in his head" by answering multiple questions back to back."
"The student is studying for her AP Calculus final, which will be modeled after an AP exam. In this session we discussed myriad topics which will be covered on the exam, these included local linear approximation, finding absolute maxima and minima, optimization, u-substitution, related rates, and particle motion as well as the fundamental theorem of calculus, the mean value theorem, and the average value of a function. These explanations brought us to the end of our session. This was a great tutorial and she did an excellent job of learning a large amount of material in a short amount of time. I assigned her material from her textbook which I believed would help cement some of the more important ideas that we went over today."
"They are currently learning about linear differential equations and Bernoulli's method. It took us a while to decipher the student's notes and compare them to the example problems from the handouts. Overall, he seemed to understand the two processes."
"The student and I met today to primarily prepare for an upcoming quiz on Riemann sums and an upcoming cumulative semester exam. Our session was productive and resolved some of his questions, particularly with regard to the use of Riemann sums involving different length intervals and aspects of implicit differentiation."
"We first covered some questions the student had about the material. Then, we went over her practice test. Finally, we went over some review questions she had problems with. She seemed to have a very good understanding of the material."
