Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has another retake chapter test coming up. Chapter 9 covers conic sections. We reviewed sections 1 through 4 covering distance formula, midpoint formula, and equations for circles, parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas. The student was challenged to think out loud than to write out the problems in order to retain and create an active memory. There is quite a bit of information for each conic section that the student must learn to associate."
"We went over basic trig identities, converting into radians and basic cosine/sine identities. I had her review her unit circle and she improved on conversions. We also reviewed using identities to simplify trig expressions."
"We reviewed for the student's upcoming test. It covers Chapter 5 of the textbook on polynomial functions. We covered graphing and analyzing polynomial functions for degree, zeros, and end behavior."
"The student and I went over converting between quadratic and vertex formulas, how to solve for standard form given 3 points, and complex quadratics. He said he felt confident about the material we covered."
"The student and I prepared for his midterm tomorrow. We covered geometrical interpretations, lines, planes and parametrized surfaces and curves."
"We went over log functions, ln functions, exponential functions, graphing these functions, translations from parent functions, and solving equations with log, ln, and exponents."
