"He had only one assignment today which was English. He had to select some passages from a book that would be described as hook sentences. He submitted them online and we spent the rest of the time discussing his biology notes which was over chemistry."

"We went over more of the student's assigned HW problems which included multi-step algebraic problems and more roots/radicals. He had also received his inequalities test, and since his teacher allowed corrections, we were able to finish that as well."
"The student and I discussed the differences between the SAT and the ACT, and the implications that this has for taking the SAT. We discussed a long-term college prep strategy that includes this summer's SAT tutoring. His assignment is to complete practice test 1 before our next session."
"We went over material similar to the student's homework assignments for this past week, which were about lines of reflection and lines of symmetry. We also tried to look ahead to what she would be learning in the upcoming week, and lastly we made a plan of action for how to approach the rest of our sessions."
"Completed work on exam and marble/candy question from last session. Student had done well on exam preparation/problems. She worked hard on the candy/marble problem, but will need additional focus on working with fractions. I tried creating a more basic problem of this nature and walked her through this example. We will continue work on this area in our next meeting."
"The student and I spent this session working on a major project for her Spanish class about household items and how to describe them. It was a very productive session and I can see a noticeable improvement in her Spanish fluency and competency, especially in verb conjugation and putting sentences together."
"Review Unit 1: 1. read loud all vocabulary and dialogues and texts from lesson 1 to lesson 5. went through some grammar points again as we read. 2. Practiced writing important characters (nouns and pronouns mostly) and some characters that aren't in the textbook. 3. Practiced numbers from 1 to 10. Client is able to say random phone numbers in Mandarin fast and correctly."
"The student and I spent this meeting going over the vocabulary training he worked through since our last meeting. We also spent a significant portion of time on the issue and argument analysis writing portions of the GRE. Once I explained the format and gave some helpful tips for getting started on the written exam sections, he indicated that he felt significantly more confident about tackling this area. We have plans to meet again to cover the verbal and writing sections of the test further, as these are the areas where I believe he can most improve his score on the GRE."
"The student said his teacher used computer lab time during Spanish class today. Since they haven't had any recent homework or review of ser and estar, I've been trying to go over both verbs with him, as well as his vocab and telling time."
"The student and I finished his essay on "1984." Having already formulated the ideas for the essay's premise, we focused today on writing and structure. The student wrote the essay completely on his own, and I simply edited it. While editing, I went over each sentence in detail with him to explain why I was making the changes."
