Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed rules of differentiation and worked problems requiring use of several rules in tandem. The student still struggles to remember the rules of differentiation, but her foundational skills have greatly improved, as has her notation."
"Went over a bunch of math, including focusing on ratios and averages. Went over vocab and a few analogies, then talked about essay writing for a few minutes. Hopefully his test tomorrow goes well."
"The student and I worked on reviewing again for the remainder of his chapter 6 exam. We focused on word problems and making sure he knows how to approach and subsequently work through the various types of problems. Good session."
"Reviewed practice problems for upcoming test. Primary topics included Universal Gravitation and Centripetal Acceleration. The student understands the subject matter, and will review the problems on her own on Thursday to finish preparing for test."
"Talked briefly about a short essay due tomorrow - his grades and performance in writing have increased dramatically. He felt very confident about his AP human mid-term exam and Literature exam. Biology he wasn't as confident about but still felt it went well. His math test is next Thursday, we spent the remainder of the session working through the review sheet. In our upcoming session we will continue to work through practice sheets on the same topics."
"We looked at one of the projects that is supposed to calculate the optimal time spent on classes to yield the highest grade. We looked at some ways that this can be implemented using break statements since he had to use for-loops. He listed some of the topics in class that are causing him trouble: optimal proofs, Prim's algorithm, and Dijkstra's algorithm. We will go over these in the upcoming sessions."
