"The student and I worked on equilibrium equations, specifically utilizing the K constant at equilibrium. Once we worked through the formula, the student was able to work through the problems quickly and accurately. She is really bright and doing a great job working with me."
"We went through a homework packet that covered electrochemistry and thermodynamics. The student needed a refresher of the basic concepts behind delta G and galvanic cells but once I explained these we made good progress with the questions. I emphasized using a structured problem solving approach that included accounting for units in order to keep track of the problem. He made a lot of progress and I was very happy by the end. We will continue next time with more questions from his packet."
"This was a long session in preparation for a test he has tomorrow. The topics were wide ranging, but we spent all of our time going over problems on his review sheet. There was lots of Pchem 2 principles covered such as particle in a box, harmonic oscillators, and eigenfunctions and values. We also covered some basics of NMR along with some pchem principles behind NMR."
"We worked on rotational dynamics with a focus on incorporating rotational motion into energy and work equations. No big struggles, lessons seem to be going smoothly. The student has a good attitude and comes ready to work hard. Strategies included adding in considerations for rotational motion into energy equations and recognizing how to break big problems into smaller parts. We went over one of my problems that incorporates this concept, the rest of his practice will be his homework."
"The student and I went over her previous test and analyzed her mistakes. For the most part, she knows exactly what she did wrong, and I feel several mistakes were likely due to time crunch. Then we handled chapter 13, which deals with solutions, polarity, molarity and dilutions. After tackling some practice questions together, I left a short list of exercises in the book I think would be good for her to do Monday, so we can discuss them Tuesday."
