"We went over her homework on matrices and then started the chapter on quadratics -- how to solve and plot quadratic equations."
"The student and I finished the packet we started on Saturday, and we went over f(x) equations and graphing y> or = to mx+b."
"We covered percent-off questions, for example, "CD is 14 dollars with 10 percent off, how much is the CD?" We also looked at probability."
"In this session the student and I started by going through radical and exponential operations she will need to know for her upcoming quiz. She was very comfortable answering most of the practice questions we worked on, but we were able to identify a few places where she could improve. We talked about how she should make sure to write out every step she takes, as skipping a small step occasionally caused her to make a mistake. We also spent some extra time practicing a tricky factoring step that is likely to show up on her quiz. We also worked on some of the more complex problems involving inverses, range and domain. If she is able to practice some additional problems while also being thorough in her work, she should be in good shape for her exam on Tuesday."
"We discussed the student's science project she needs to complete over the break. I also gave her "homework" to do, and I explained the concepts behind much of the science she was working on."
"Today, we discussed Chapter 4 part B. This chapter was concerned with studying the displacement, velocity, and acceleration vs. time graphs and what information we can gather from the areas and slopes of those graphs. We will be able to start working the section problems tomorrow."
