"The student and I talked about her goals. She would like to achieve a 27 and has not yet chosen a test date. I think working on practice problems and doing an extensive math concept review will help her achieve her goal score. Today, we began reviewing graphing and understanding functions. We talked about inverse functions, graphing lines, finding intersections, and translating functions. We also did science and reading passages. We will continue to work through concept review next week."
"The student and I went over her science homework and practiced reading passages. She got most of the reading questions right, and I think if she applies the same strategy to science, it will help boost her score there as well."
"Today we worked on pacing for ACT Math. The student scored 53/60 on an ACT Math practice test (29-30 scaled score) and finished all of the questions in 50 minutes. This score demonstrated good progress with pacing. The area of most challenge was coordinate/ plane geometry. We also briefly reviewed topics in English grammar, including semicolons, colons, and dashes. I left him with an English practice test from the prep guide."
