Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went through the student's quizzes and the problems he missed. We went very quickly over second order equations with constant coefficients and we also covered orthogonal trajectories. We also talked some about exact equations. The student seemed to understand well, though hasn't mastered the topics quite yet."
"The meet on Wednesday with the student went very well. She is working hard and managed to complete all of the assignments that I gave her (2 hours of work per day). During the meet we finished the Math portion of the exam and prepared for Saturday. "
"During this tutoring session we covered: multiplication, division, addition and subtraction of functions; how to convert equations from standard form to vertex for parabolas; how to find the vertex of parabolas; axes translations to find the new origin."
"Discussed the concept of Lewis Dot Diagrams - how they represent the electron configuration of atoms, how they relate to the electron quantum number configuration, and how they are useful in helping us figure out the shape of compounds. Practiced building and using Lewis Dot Diagrams to construct compounds given atomic ratios. Went on to discuss the different types of interatomic bonding, and how to distinguish between covalent, metallic covalent, polar covalent, and ionic bonds using the concept of electronegativity."
"The student worked on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division word problems. She did well on most of the questions. She practiced simple multiplication and division problems which she did great on. She also read and answered questions relating to a graph which she did well on."
"We worked on an outline for the student's essay and she will write a draft that we will edit and perfect in the next session"
