Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student learned basic counting in class, and we went over a little more that he didn't finish learning in class, including the subtraction and division rule for counting. We then reviewed some homework problems on all the rules, including previous math knowledge like proofs."
"Today, the student and I covered how to write an argumentative essay. His essay was very interesting and enjoyable to read. His message was clear. What needed improvement was some of the grammar and concluding statements. He listened to my suggestions and was able to improve upon the essay. I look forward to seeing his final draft."
"We covered equations with two operations, multiplying and dividing fractions, and dividing decimals. We did some flash cards and worked through plenty of problems together. I also had him break down the steps of a few different processes that we've been working on to help cement the ideas in his thinking. I think breaking down the steps separate from any problems was a big help."
"We covered polynomials, remainder theorem, factor theorem, synthetic division, and graphs. The student was motivated to go through the material reviewed for most of the session. I included step-by-step processes, visual aids, and repetition of similar problems. I also had him explain what he learned. I left several extra practice problems to review the concepts covered during this session. He is doing well with the course material."
"We worked to get the student prepared for a test tomorrow. Topics covered included confidence intervals and types of error. The relationship between type I errors, type II errors, and power was explored in depth."
"We went over the student's data for her final project. It was well-organized, so we just needed to set up some graphs and talk about the written summary."
