"Today, I helped the student study and review for his environmental science test that is tomorrow. We went over the PowerPoint provided by his teacher, and I quizzed him on the important concepts. After making sure he was completely familiar with everything, I quizzed him one more time. After this, I helped him write a paragraph summary for a chapter in his book for his class."
"We finished going over the review packet that the student has for his final. I gave him problems that were harder than the ones in the packet in order to make sure that he truly understood the concepts. We then went over everything again, and I believe that he has a good understanding of the material!"
"The student just had an exam on related rates, optimization problems, and linear approximations. We went ahead, and I taught her how to differentiate and integrate natural logarithm functions. We used these techniques to find tangent lines, relative extrema, and implicit differentiation. We also briefly covered inverse functions and their derivatives."
"The student is working hard on studying for his math exam. He got his "cheat sheet" notes and review paper complete. He and his mother went over them both. He was able to find some of his own mistakes, and he says he feels more comfortable with more of the material."
"Today, we covered 4 problems concerning intervals and radiuses of convergence for power series. Every single one used the ratio test, so we reviewed the ratio test and taking limits as a part of the problems. Absolute values and inequality operations also were integral to the problems."
"We discussed solving functions for their inverse and determining the range and domain of square root functions. I will be emailing the student additional practice problems on these topics. She seemed to understand the process of rearranging the functions to solve for the y variable. I also gave her my process for determining the range/domain for functions."
