Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I discussed his most recent chapter. We went over the material for chi-square distributions and he completed homework for the current week."
"Today the student and I reviewed her midterm she took a couple weeks ago and covered conditional probability and tree diagrams."
"Today we went over hypothesis testing and the subtle differences between the details surrounding the different questions."
"The student has three worksheets of review problems for homework, so we worked our way through half of these problems and will finish them next time. Most of the concepts she knew well enough or only needed some gentle prodding or reminding to remember. She did have more trouble with creating the dilation of a triangle on a coordinate plane than I expected, since she worked on that for quite a while a few weeks ago. She also had some trouble with the 'extension' problem, but that is only natural since it isn't something that she is expected to know and is actually quite a difficult problem, the likes of which usually doesn't come up until high school."
"The student did great work in his tutoring session today! He breezed through exercises about different triangle and angle types, and we were able to progress to working on finding the area of triangles. I recommend that he practices multi-digit multiplication everyday so that he is able to quickly and accurately calculate the areas of triangles. I am looking forward to seeing his progress next week!"
"Today, we completed a practice Book 1 and Book 2 for the 4th grade Math statewide exam. In Book 1, the student got 29 out of 30 questions correct. Completing the test on time will not be a problem for him because he finished all 30 questions in 30 minutes. In Book 2, he made a couple of minor errors, but when told to check over the question, he understood his mistake and corrected it successfully. On Tuesday's tutoring session, we will go over another old practice statewide exam, focusing on Book 1 and 2. On Thursday's tutoring session, we will focus on Book 3 (which will be tested on Friday)."
