"The student has a quiz tomorrow on frog dissection that was started Friday in class that he did not attend. So we had some major review to go over. He had a worksheet of external and internal organs with appearance, location, and function. Most of these weren't complete so I pulled up dissection pictures, a PowerPoint, a website, and quiz. I provided the student with all the resources used today and practice multiple choice questions in addition to fill in the blank matching diagrams. The first thing was to show the student a live picture and a drawing picture of be structure then we discusses function."
"Today we focused mainly on stereochemistry, including how to determine/ assign priority based on highest molecular weight, when to rotate the molecule to get the lowest priority group in the back (usually the hydrogen), and how to assign R & S in different molecules drawn in different ways (bond-line, Fisher, etc.). We also compared two molecules and went over terminology and how to assign certain names such as constitutional isomers, identical molecules, stereoisomers, etc. The student worked through the assigned homework problems she was given. She catches on quickly and is ahead of the lecture schedule, so that is really good!"
