Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session we reviewed the student's first midterm. We primarily worked on the long answer questions. We went through the questions, going over the ones that she had gotten wrong and looking at ways to solve them. Then we moved on to the multiple choice section of the midterm. We discussed methods and strategies for physics multiple choice sections and went through some of the questions practicing those strategies."
"The student and I worked on her chemistry worksheets and prepped for her upcoming quiz. We then spent some time going over her algebra homework, which was on probability, combinations, and permutations."
"The student had received two tests that we went over all of his wrong answers. He understands the material better now. We created a list of items that he needs to keep in mind when answering questions. We also reviewed a worksheet that he was having trouble understanding."
"Today, the student and I made an outline for his paper and discussed what will content will be featured in his paper. We decided on the digestive system and mapped out the anatomy and function of the digestive systems in squid (mollusks), frogs (amphibians), and a fetal pig (mammals). I suggested he write a rough draft of his paper so we can go over it Wednesday, to make sure it's in good shape."
"Today, the student had a project to work on. We brainstormed ideas for a comic strip about states of matter, which she will complete on her own and then share with the third grade class. She also showed me the results of her last exam, which showed improvement!"
"We walked through a retrosynthesis talking about strategies how to get to the correct final product. We covered keto-enol tautomerism, directing effects of substituents with their mesomeric structures and the hydration of alkynes."
