Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Looked at the essay the student had written for the week and edited it. Did a second essay together and showed how a conclusion should function in an essay. Still needs work with conclusions. Other than that, excellent performance."
"The student said that the practice reading and English ACT sections that he did went pretty well. He is scoring around a 33 for both sections. We worked on practice reading and English passages today. He did really well and only missed 2 questions total in reading and 0 in English. Progress was good. Based on his practice tests, he should score really well on his ACT."
"Reviewed data analysis questions and did more practice questions. Completed Section 6 in the practice test and reviewed missed questions. Emphasized the importance of reading thoroughly and went over key points for test strategy."
"Today we finished up reviewing chapter 5. This is the most recent chapter the student covered in school. He was able to solve most of the problems. It's the optimization word problem he still needs some more practice with. We also started chapter 6 learning new materials on integration rules, it's working backward from the derivative."
"The student has a free response final tomorrow. He had already completed the problems in the review packet, so I went through his book and found problems for him to practice the same concepts as in the packet. This covered exponential and logarithmic rules, converting between rectangular and polar coordinates, adding vectors, working with exponential functions and sets of data. I left him to review parametric functions."
"We worked on clothing; what do we wear during the day, in the winter, at the beach, in the summer, and at night. We cut up clothing from magazines. I asked questions using of new verbs: to wear, to put on, to get dressed or undressed."
