Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We talked about the student's first impressions of her Spanish Class. She and two other students are the only non Spanish speakers in the class, but she feels confident. We worked on her Tuesday test reviewing the grammar she will have: present indicative, ser y estar, commands and passive voice. Then we practiced listening and comprehension with a video about El Prado museum followed by questions. Then she read a passage about El Greco, the painter, and we discussed his life. She is doing well with the grammar and with a last review she will do well."
"The student and I have been studying vocabulary words and sentence completion. She continues to study the words during the week which is reflected when being quizzed during her sessions. We covered math vocabulary and reinforced the concepts by completing questions using the vocabulary. I introduced factors and order of operations."
"We reviewed the student's recent chemistry test to go over the concepts and analyze the questions he answered incorrectly."
"In this session, we continued our discussion of the difficult sentence completion questions. The student's educated guessing skills are improving dramatically. Also, we are enhancing the index card collection. We also continued to spot-check and correct the portion of the practice tests that he had time to complete. The student agreed to complete another entire practice test before our next session."
"Today the student and I reviewed for her upcoming algebra test over the long/synthetic division and graphing of polynomials. We went through her past two quizzes that she's had over the material, and then worked through a test review that she had been given."
"The student was hit with a last-minute assignment due on Thursday. I stepped him through each part, set his mind at ease as we modified the original ERD he sent, which was about 90% complete, and gave him what he needed to get the ERD to the point that the professor was looking for."
