Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In our first session this week the student and I began preparing for his vocabulary-focused final exam next week. We reviewed the vocabulary terms from chapters 6-8 and made a progressive list of terms he is less familiar with. For each chapter, we reviewed the meanings of all the terms and completed the vocabulary exercises in his textbook orally. As our session continued, I randomly quizzed him on the terms he was least familiar with, in no particular order. He will continue to make and use flashcards for the chapters, and we will review them in our next session. I was pleased with his vocabulary retention. He also shared with me the results of his last make-up test and quiz, both of which he received Bs on. I am very happy that he has brought his course grade up to almost a B! Our sessions have been productive and now that he is putting in the work he is seeing the results of his studying."
"The student and I covered basic conjugations of -ar, -er, and -ir verbs, and reviewed prior tests to prepare for the written and oral portions of his final exam (e.g., how to answer questions in the present tense)."
"The student found out she had a test today. I reviewed with her family vocab, party vocab, ar, er, ir verbs, tener conjugation, and possessive adjectives. We reviewed each concept individually and then we wrote a small paragraph at the end using what we learned to talk about a friends party. Her homework is to study, especially the vocab/concepts she having difficulty with."
