"We went over the student's first quiz on pressure and buoyancy. She got an 8/10 on the quiz - she made a small error finding the % of an object submerged in water given its mass and volume. She used the volume of the entire cup when finding the buoyant force instead of the volume of the submerged part. Otherwise, she seemed to grasp the concepts well. We spent the rest of the session on her new notes on temperature and heat exchange. We went over sample questions from my textbook. We will go over more examples and review previous notes next time for her midterm."
"We covered how to manipulate the gravitational constant and how to compute force of gravity between objects. We took time to understand algebraic relationships because they are key to understanding how to solve these problems intuitively. He is doing better with his math and needs less help with minor mistakes and just general help on how to approach problems. We also covered graphing and shading inequalities. Most of the time was spent on how gravity works on a more fundamental level, so he may understand why we talk about gravity the way we do in science."
"We went through her physics review packet. I had her do all the work and just guided her at any places she got stuck. She was well versed in the information and was confident in her work. We then went through and completed her lab."
