Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered basic dimensional analysis problems involving mole, mass, volume, and particle conversions of elements and compounds. We were able to review the majority of the student's online homework assignment. Once we worked a few problems by hand, she was grasping the concepts better. I left her with a chemistry formula guide that she can reference while studying or doing homework. With more practice in future sessions, she can greatly improve in this class."
"The student has a test tomorrow so we worked though specific heat, Hess's Law and heat calorimetry problems. He understands the concepts fairly well but did make a few mathematical errors that caused him to get some problems wrong. I believe on his test he will be more careful and not make the same mistakes he made today."
"The student and I reviewed the relational properties of gases: Boyle's Law, the Combined Gas Law, and the Ideal Gas Law. I chose sample problems from the book from each section for her to complete, explaining concepts as she solved the problems. After some general explanation and illustration with visual examples, she was able to better understand how pressure, volume, temperature, and amount of gas relate to each other. She was able to see how the variables affect each other for both directly and indirectly proportional relationships."
