Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished up with the student's exam preparation, talking about series RLC circuits and resonance, and how to calculate impedance for those cases. We also briefly discussed a problem on thin-film interference and how to calculate the wavelength of light inside a material of a certain index of refraction. She has put in a lot of work and I am sure the sheer number of topics can seem overwhelming, but I think she has enough "tools in her belt" to be able to do well."
"We focused mostly on the worksheet and review for her first semester exam on 1/21. We discussed different problem solving techniques, the importance of setting up the problem clearly, as well as what to put and how to best organize the 8.5x11 cheat sheet that she was allowed to have for her exam."
"We covered naming ionic compounds (both mono and polyatomic). We also reviewed worksheet notes and discussed rules (-ide, roman numerals, polyatomics) and exceptions and the reasons for certain exceptions. The student improved in her understanding as the session went along."
