"The student and I looked at exercises he had from class on quadratic equations. We then worked several practice problems from the classroom's problem pool. He is understanding the problems a lot better than last time."
"The student has the second half of his unit test tomorrow so we worked on the surface area of cylinders and rectangular prisms for an hour. He showed solid understanding. I asked the problems many different ways to see if he could interpret where he was missing information and then deriving this information. He made an error multiplying decimals so I encouraged him to estimate before multiplying to see if his answer is reasonable."
"We went over math and some humanities. We practiced filling out his planner and making sure he gets assignments done before it comes up in the planner."
"Another session with the student that was very successful and satisfying. He has maintained a good level of organization that can always improve, but I know it requires time. He has also demonstrated a good understanding and confidence"
"We fought through law of sines last week, so tonight we did two problems involving law of cosines before we previewed the next section. We created proofs with great visuals for the double angle formulas for sine and cosine. Then the student constructed the two alternate versions for cosine with little assistance. The student will have a full review packet for us on Wednesday."
"The student worked on an online assignment consisting of logarithms and applications of exponential functions (growth/decay). We made good progress."
