Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked through Section B of the Math test. He remained engaged for the full 90 minutes and asked good questions. His reasoning skills are very strong."
"We started out with a spelling test. He received a B+ on the test and performed very well. He also received a 100% on the follow up quiz, in which I tested him on the words he missed, as well as some new words! We then worked on his math review that he worked on in school. He is understanding number lines and basic fractions. We worked on different ways to write the same fraction, and he's picking it up nicely. There is no homework due for tomorrow."
"We mostly focused on the student's math assignment. She started learning area of quadrilaterals and parallelograms. She was initially not grasping the concept of area and different formulas for different shapes. By the end of the session, she understood how to compute the different areas. I will continue to emphasize the importance of learning the formulas."
"Today we reviewed the student's unit test on the first four chapters of the textbook. The teacher put together a very fair test that has a strong curve. The student scored a 66 (above the class average), and we went through the test questions to review where the student likely lost points. We also continued discussing graphs and Euler circuits."
"We worked though more common core math problems sets - mostly multiplication of two and three-digit numbers and patterns. The student really improves with practice, and he's definitely mastered long division and multiplication."
"The student and I reviewed material for her last chapter which included regression and correlation. She hadn't covered too much of the material in class. We worked through problems in the book, making sure that she knew how to use all her tools available for her to understand the questions, including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, beta coefficients, coefficients of determination with her calculator. Once we completed the session, she felt very comfortable with the material. She will have a quiz on her chapter today."
