### Award-Winning Pre-Calculus Tutors in Jacksonville, FL

Jacy While studying for my masters degree in mathematical sciences, I taught my own elementary statistics course. I was also an assistant teacher for calculus, college algebra, and various other college-level math courses. I love math, but I also realize that not every student feels the same way I do. My goal as a teacher is to make learning math and statistics as painless as possible!

Michael ...experience includes mentoring in both group and one-on-one settings. While most of my teaching has been done with my students of similar age, I would be comfortable with younger students as well, having been an older sibling for most of my life. From personal experience from the point of view of both a teacher and a student, learning is not always a straightforward process. Teaching plans should be compatible with individual students, taking into account...

Christopher I have been taking upper-level math and science classes at the University of North Florida for some time. I have about 33 credits remaining for a bachelor's degree with a concentration in general physics and a minor in mathematics. I hope to simplify matters that might seem complicated. Many times complex concepts are best mastered in a step-by-step fashion. This approach demands patience, however, it usually ends in a cumulative understanding of these principal concepts.

Nicholas ...in both research and teaching to not pursue those as a career at the highest level. Throughout my life, I have found that I am very skilled at teaching both my colleagues and those younger than me. Around my middle school years, I’ve found have a knack for explaining abstract and difficult-to-understand topics. At which point I began tutoring on a volunteer basis which later developed into a private tutoring business. I normally teach college...

Stacey ...I meet the student where they are and cater tutoring sessions to individual learning styles. Whether you're a visual learner or someone who learns best by understanding theory, I will accommodate it all! All written lessons are customized for the individual student, and extra care is given to a student's weak areas. Nothing is more gratifying than helping the "light come on" for a student having difficulty understanding a challenging topic or concept. I look...

Ginger ...15 years with students in small groups and individually. My primary subject of tutoring is in math, which I love. To me, there is no better feeling than seeing the light come on when a concept that was "too hard" becomes understandable to a student. I also love that students from past years will approach me in public and share their successes and thank me for the help I was able to give them.... I believe that everyone can have a deeper understanding of mathematical principles. I also believe that there is more than one way to solve any given problem. I do not believe that rote memorization of facts or processes is true learning. To that end, I talk with each student and ask questions to find out how each person thinks and how they best learn. I am then able to show them different techniques using their strengths to guide the lesson. I continue to check for understanding throughout the lesson to ensure that the process is working, and if not, I change direction. In this way, my instruction is personalized for each student.
