Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed division and spent some time working on the Partial Quotients method. She finds this method tricky, but she's great at using the traditional method, so it shouldn't cause her too many problems. I left her with a packet of worksheets for practice this week."
"On the student's most recent exam he for 41/45 correct. This is a big improvement. Before we started he was failing tests. We continued to work on math skills."
"The student and I discussed an upcoming plan of what we'd be working on in the future across various subjects. He will be starting long division and poetry in math and reading, and we will be talking about the Civil War in social studies."
"The student completed her nightly homework assignment on frequency distributions. She then introduced me to the online Math system that she uses. She completed a lesson on translations and demonstrated how the Math challenge works. She understood all of the concepts and correctly answered nearly all of the questions she attempted."
"Today we worked on adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators in word problems. She did excellent work! I showed her how to solve other problems by setting the percent over 100 and then finding equivalent fractions. She did very well. Lastly, she worked on converting fractions to decimals, which is an excellent use of equivalent fractions!"
"We did a review of hypothesis testing methods and the beginnings of correlation and regression. Tomorrow will be a comprehensive practice test ahead of the final."
