Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was our first meeting so I tried to get an idea of the student's abilities in Spanish. He's taking Spanish I and seems to be on target with his understanding of the grammar they've studied so far. I'll be able to better determine that as we go on. It will be a goal to of mine to spark more interest in him for the language. He seems motivated to do well in his class."
"I guided the student through approximately six mini-lessons and a chapter review to catch her back up in Spanish. It covered shopping and associated vocabulary, as well as many cultural highlights of Honduras and El Salvador."
"Today, the student and I worked on la apocope (shortened words). She needed help with the singular/ plural and masculine/ feminine of words. She makes a great effort in class and likes to be challenged."
"We reviewed more phrases and vocabulary that the student regularly uses and needs for her workplace. She did really well and brought up really good questions about how to say certain things and how to respond."
"We covered a review of the last exercises on past perfect and past imperfect, simple future tense and exercises from the manual, and new vocabulary. Next session will still focus on conjugation: conditional and imperative modes."
"Tonight we worked on math online. The student and I discussed her performance on her most recent state assessment test and talked about the strategies that she utilized while taking the test. For our next session, I am planning to give her a timed state assessment math practice test so that she can continue building confidence and time management skills."
