"The student and I worked on completing a practice quiz for his math quiz tomorrow. The quiz covered factoring quadratic equations, graphing the vertex, finding the vertex, finding the x and yintercepts, among other concepts. We completed the practice quiz and I gave the student a chance to ask questions. He felt prepared for the test but worried about forgetting some of the information before the test, so we reviewed the concepts a few times.
We also worked on the student's science study guide for his quiz tomorrow."

"Today the student and I covered some evolution work. She had a four part assignment to work on, which she had to compare and contrast some of the evolutionary adaptations of lizards. She just needed some clarification on some ideas about how to answer the questions with better detail. We will be meeting on Tuesday to go over some more items."
"1. SAT Math Test 1, Section 3. (Triangles, Percents) 2. SAT English Reading Comprehension, Sentence Completion. He understands the fundamentals in Math and should start working on practice sections. He needs to study English vocab words. He should dedicate 1 hour a night to this."
"This session began by me introducing the student to basic algebraic concepts. The student demonstrated mastery of these concepts. The student and I then completed some practice reading SSAT questions. Please continue working with vocabulary words at home. "
"The student requested assistance with singlevariable calculus coursework as part of a review for her final exam. Topics covered included: *Deriving the general solution and particular solution of initial value problems by integration of separable equations. *Review of firstsemester differential and integral calculus common derivatives and integrals. *Review of some critical techniques for breaking down functions into integrable pieces. The student seems to have a good working grasp of the material and spoke well of her tutor."
"This was an introductory session, primarily. The student and I discussed the SAT overall and general strategies to consider when taking the test. We then touched on various concepts within each section, mostly so I could get a feel for what he is and is not familiar with. I informed him that during our next session, we will be going further indepth. I plan on working through problems with him, teaching him beneficial approaches to each question, so he can see the application of strategy and concepts."
"Topics covered for math today were finding x and y intercepts. This type of problem was reviewed and clearly understood. Topics covered for Spanish were conjugating ar, ir, er verbs, tener, ser, ir, and estar. Vocabulary reviewed are school, position, and emotion terms. Progress achieved is a better understanding of conjugating the irregular verbs and she memorized the vocabulary terms, especially the position terms."
"Today, the student had all Latin homework to work on. He started out working on a worksheet keyed to the textbook reading on the political life of a town like Pompeii in ancient Rome. When this work was done, he moved on to the rest of the worksheet, most of which was focused on special verbs that take the dative case, as well as verbs with direct and indirect objects. For the most part, he knew what he was doing, but on some forms I had to give him some guidance in the right direction. He also had a couple of worksheets to complete on English derivatives from Latin. Once again, he did well on these, except for the words he didn't know, which studied in the dictionary. Finally, he worked on learning the vocabulary for his current chapter. Overall he was doing good work."
"The student and I went over more trig. We focused on solving trig equations and once I showed her a few tricks and she did some practice problems she did well with them. I advised her to make some flash cards for trig problems and wrote down what she needed to put on them for her. Then, we studied for her quiz today."
"Worked on ACT math. The student is very strong and can score higher than a 28 (his highest score on the pretest). When we revisit math, we will focus primarily, if not exclusively, on final 1/3 questions."
"We reviewed the student's homework today she's working on division. She's very quick with it, and today she was more focused than usual. We figured out that the best way to keep her on task is to make a game out of every problem."
"I am working on division with the student. She understands horizontal division and vertical division. She understands grouping and how multiplication is related to division. I am working on her writing in columns. I picked some relevant problems from the book for her to do as practice. I will work more with dividing into multidigit numbers. Then I'll transition to dividing two digit numbers into a larger number."
