"The student and I worked through online algebra 3 problems. We agreed to set aside time in the future for preparing for her state assessment test in math."
"She had a little bit of algebra 2 work to get through covering rational functions, finding zeros, and solving for them. She's doing much better with them than she did the last time, and was able to solve most of them on her own. After that, we went over some more of her college stuff - sorting through the spreadsheet she made of colleges with the major she wants and trying to get a feel for a good range of colleges to apply to."
"I went over review problems with the student for her upcoming test. She seemed to struggle a little which was strange because she was doing so well with the concepts last time I met with her."
"The student is continuing to work on the conic sections, today focusing on ellipses and hyperbolas, their vertices and foci, and major/minor axes. We looked at how to graph the two conics given various pieces of information. She also worked on a set of problems requiring her to identify which conic a certain equation represented. She was confident with the material, having no trouble assessing what information was needed and how to set up the problem."
"The student and I worked on trig identities and equations. She mentioned she has a test next week that we will prepare for during our next session. She also worked on several of her homework problems."
"We reviewed hypothesis testing for a one-sample z-test, power, and the significance of a confidence interval. The student's attitude was great. I will aim to improve her ability to interpret the results for confidence intervals and hypothesis tests."
