Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered calculating triangle lengths and areas using the Pythagorean theorem combined with SOHCAHTOA (short for memorization with sine/ cosine/ tangent equations)."
"We covered usage of apothems in regular polygons to determine area and perimeter in geometry. We also continued working on the student's chemistry nine weeks test review."
"We reviewed the student's test again. We then did a review of square roots and their properties. We then did a bit of a review from her current chapter 10."
"We reviewed his worksheet for converse property in geometry. He knew them well and he was able to answer the questions by himself. Then we went through the next chapter which he's going to learn this week. It was about algebraic properties in geometry. We went through some examples as well. He understood them. He is doing well."
"We continued learning more about triangles and congruences. The student did his homework for next week. After the last exam he has a solid B, 5% above the class average and hopefully that will keep increasing!"
"In today's session we worked on practice problems covering angles and parallel lines, specifically how to find the values of vertical angles, corresponding angles, and alternate interior/ exterior angles. We also did problems on finding angle values in triangles and systems of lines. What I have noticed with the student is that it is not a matter of her ability, but more a matter of confidence that seems to be holding her back from really being able to understand and complete problem sets. Also, I gave her homework to do throughout the week and I emphasized how important it is to work on math every single day. It is the only way that things are going to start making sense and I want her to put even more time into her homework as well as additional practice problems."
