Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we did some more work on similar and congruent figures. We then moved on to solving for a side on similar figures using ratios and proportions."
"Solving for x with two triangles that share a similar side (either sharing an isosceles side, or two right angles sharing a side). Started Trigonometry and the basics thereof: determining the fractional equivalent of sine, cosine and tangent of a triangle, given a side and an angle, determining x."
"The student and I worked on his homework for algebra 2. He needed help with logarithms. He seemed to get the hang of it by the end of our session."
"The student worked on homework covering arithmetic sequences, identifying arithmetic sequences, finding the common difference, and then using the information about the common difference and a preceding term to find the following or the previous term in a sequence. He finished his homework quickly so we moved on to the second part of the arithmetic sequence section, the arithmetic mean and finding the nth term in a sequence. He reviewed the two equations and how to use them to find the arithmetic mean the nth term, then worked on several example problems. We had a little time at the end to introduce the geometric mean."
"The student and I began to review the material covered in the next chapter of her textbook. We discussed graphing lines with two variables and how to determine if an equation is a function or not by using the vertical line test and/or by looking at the points contained within a linear graph to see if any x-values are repeated. She did very well in today's session. We will meet again next week."
"We went over series. We covered the limit comparison test, the comparison test, and geometric series. The student was quite positive about learning the material. She seems to understand everything."
