Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The beginning of today's session was dedicated to verbal review, focusing on synonyms. The student still has the most difficulty with these questions, but she is improving. She has little to no difficulty completing analogies correctly. I noticed that she rushes through the verbal questions. If she takes her time, she may be able to have an easier time with the synonyms. We also reviewed math today--she seemed comfortable with most of the practice questions. The few that she had difficulty with were explained to her, and she says they make much more sense now. The end of the session was reading comprehension review. The student performed the best with these questions, even though she mentioned that she feels like they are difficult. I left her with a practice essay prompt to complete before our next session in a couple of days. Between today's session and the extra practice I left her, I think she received a well-rounded review for her exam. We will have a similar review session next time, and then I think she will be ready for her placement exam."
"We worked on reading comprehension and math from the practice test. The student was having a difficult time with understanding the questions posed by the math problems and we decided that maybe she needed to take a break. We will focus on those again in the next session."
"We did two more math sections and another verbal section today. Both girls scored at or above 700 on all sections. They improved from yesterday and did wonderfully. I expect after our final session that they will both be more than prepared for the test on Saturday. They have a thorough understanding of the materials they've already learned and are even grasping some new materials in the last few sessions."
