Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and a reviewed more rotational solids and focused creating the right integral space as the first step before moving on to the actual integral. He was still having some issue with changing variables, but that was cleared up."
"We talked about sequences and series as well as logarithms and how to express an exponential equation in logarithmic form. We went over his past homework and talked about the importance of understanding why you missed points off of assignments to prevent future repeated mistakes. Also talked about when to use an arithmetic sequence and when to use a geometric sequence."
"Today we focused on review. We went over animals, colors, family members, days of the week, food, numbers, and the alphabet."
"The student purchased a new calculator, and I was able to show him how to use it. We spent the whole session working on his homework assignment which was on graphing and finding the slope-intercept equation of a line given a point on the line and the slope. We were able to finish every single problem on the assignment. I noticed he was having most difficulty with the slope-intercept equation. After a few problems, he was having little to no issues on the subject."
"Student and I spent a significant portion of the session going through a workbook of word problems I brought for him. We focused on identifying operational terms and variables in word problems, so as to create solvable algebraic formulas. We also reviewed one of his previous math tests, which revealed a few errors and a little more time needed on interpreting word problems. He also had a new poetry assignment that we spent time analyzing for content and literary techniques. "
