Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today was an introductory session. We reviewed her style of learning, her teacher's style of teaching, and what areas she needs the most help with. I have access to her school student portal which will allow me to review it prior to our next session. This way I have an idea as to what they are doing in class and prepare some materials and suggestions for our next lesson."
"We studied for student #1's upcoming test on the preterite and imperfect. I gave her fill-in the blank and writing exercises to practice the difference in use between both tenses. With student #2, she had three pages from her Spanish workbook to do for homework and she completed those during our session."
"The session focused on the student's project in all aspects. First, she analyzed the concepts and ideas within the project. A conversation between the student, her teacher and I took place in order to understand the ideas. The project would centralize in a model of teaching (as a lesson or unit plan) that would allow educational institutions and teachers, to teach English more efficiently to native Spanish speakers. Motivation and differentiation would be within the new strategies. The ideas presented were rich and elaborate, the next step was to plan an outline and consider the sources needed. I encouraged the student to be very selective about sources and specificity. I also encourage the student to implement the suggestions presented, which we all agreed. The student was eager to continue the project and to elaborate on her ideas and experience."
