"Today, we began by using our manipulatives to model two digit addition problems. The student then began modeling the carrying of the ten's place in her problems with this. Then, I introduced touch math in the digits one through nine with addition. We then were able to complete several problems with occasional slight corrections on my part. She was able to complete 2 or 3 problems completely without help. Then, we began getting familiar with a children's reading app, the student version of the reading A-Z. We read two books on this level and went over how she should read the book first, then listen to it, and then take the quiz. We worked on books on the level B. She can work on this with her father at home on some of the level B's. I left her father with the example of touch math numerals. She should practice 5 or 6 addition problems with the touch math numerals as well as doing around a half an hour of reading if possible before tomorrow."
"Today, the student and I worked on sight words for 30 minutes. For the other 30 minutes, the student and I worked on forming letters from his name and his brother's name with play dough."
"I introduced and covered nouns, verbs, spelling, and pronouns with the student. I also worked with him on writing skills."
