"The student and I reviewed for her test on exponents and radicals. We used the review packets her teacher provided. We started by simplifying exponential/ radical expressions. She understands how to work with exponents/ radicals. We went through word problems. She needed some help with scientific notation, but once we reviewed that, she did well with those problems. She is very engaged in our sessions and really wants to do well."
"Today, we worked on the Algebra course that the student is taking with his Trig class. We reviewed homework on composite functions, functions and their inverses, and graphs of inverses. He did quite well. He then completed one of the quizzes on this material and scored 90%. He needs to complete the two online classes for his tests sometime in April. I enjoy working with him!"
"We reviewed for the student's midterm exam. I helped her complete her review packet, which included solving systems of equations and inequalities algebraically and by graphing and arithmetic and geometric sequences. I worked with her on trying to being more confident going into her test."
"We covered reversing the order of integration where the bounds for the integrand depend on one of the variables. The student seemed to get more confident with the problems."
"Today we went over the student's homework for chapter 7. We were able to get all of the material covered. He is much more comfortable with the course material in general (and SPSS in specific) than when we started working together."
"I helped the student review and study for French. We covered verb conjugations, prepositions, masculine and feminine forms of nouns, and possessives. I gave her several tips that could help her memorize some of the principles. For example, for the verbs 'to go' and 'to come,' I had her write out all the conjugated forms as a method to memorize them, and pointed out patterns that are consistent in the spelling. I quizzed her on each chapter's concepts and vocabulary. She has a great attitude, making her a great learner. She did well with memorizing some of the grammar mechanics."
