Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For this session we covered and went over specific topics surrounding momentum and conservation of momentum. We went through the chapter and took proper notes on pertinent formulas, etc. We then reviewed some practice problems to facilitate the knowledge covered."
"This session, the student and I focused on vectors and then their applications in forces and projectile motion. The session started with going over the basic aspects of a vector and then doing a series of problems addressing components, vector addition, and other basic vector operations. We then moved on to free body diagrams and projectile motion problems, using the problems to explain key gaps in understanding. I left her four problems to do on her own to test how the information in the session was retained."
"The student and I covered concepts related to speed, velocity, and acceleration. We focused on graphing and using equations. Her attitude was amazing. She seemed incredibly positive and academically motivated. Overall, this session was incredibly productive and positive."
"We worked on the refraction of light, specifically Snell's law. We reviewed the lecture concepts of index of refraction and angles of incidence and refraction. Then we applied these to some homework problems. I also showed her a couple of calculator skills for getting to answers more efficiently and accurately. I think she is glad with the progress she is making."
"We went over both math and physics. The student has an exam for math on Wednesday, so we did an extensive review of her trig equations worksheets."
"We focused on more of the circular motion and momentum problems this lesson, especially the difference between conservative and non-conservative forces and how to account for those and some problems converting period, frequency and angular frequency. Attitude is good, he's made a lot of improvement over the last week since the last test. Main strategies are continuing to focus on how to correctly determine when to use various conservation laws and also how to be a bit more clear and concise with work. This is before the final, I suggested just reviewing equations and making sure he can remember them on the exam."
