"I went to school in Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I first started tutoring as a volunteer for middle school students who were struggling in math. Over the years, I've worked with students on various subjects ranging from Spanish (my mother is from Mexico City) to history. I've always enjoyed working with people, and I love being able to instill confidence and hope! In my free time, I like to explore Houston and the globe! My next trip will hopefully be to South America in the Spring!."

"I am now applying to graduate school, taking prerequisite science coursework, and am excited to get back into tutoring! While I studied musicology in undergrad, I am also currently preparing for the MCAT and GRE, and thus am willing and able to tutor in both the science and music realms. In the past when I tutored elementary school students, my style tended to be one of encouragement. My primary goal is to nurture a sense of accomplishment and pride in the student, so that they may eventually find themselves engrossed in their studies with little to no need for a tutor. In essence, I try to impart my own passion for learning on the student." ...

"Because of my dual degree, I’m able to help out in both scientific and literary subjects. I love Spanish and literature, particularly literature in Spanish, and editing in both English and Spanish is something I enjoy doing. I love asking “why” questions and pushing students to understand their academic purpose as well as the right answer! I have studied and done biological research in the field (as well as in the lab) in three different countries, so it's no surprise that I love traveling, living in new places, and learning about new cultures. I have always kept up a strong work ethic to help me succeed in school, even while I was studying ...

"I attended Texas Southern University's honors program majoring in Biology and am now a graduate student at the University of Houston-Victoria studying Biomedical Science and Film. My mother, a small-business owner/educator and my father, an electrical engineer instilled the value of education in me at an early age. I learned a lot of my teaching style from them; patience, repetition, organization, and motivation to name a few. I began tutoring my cousins in my youth who struggled with math, science, or english."

"My educational journey has been a long one, but I've always loved learning and that love has kept me in school (whether for better or worse :P) for more years than I can count. Though I don't plan on being a student forever, the time that I've spent preparing for college, graduate school, and now medical school has reminded me of how enabling a strong academic record can be. I've been tutoring since I was in high school and have worked with students at every level of education. I specialize in teaching from a very fundamental perspective and in building concepts from the ground up but also enjoy helping students to "just get done" with their ...
