Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we covered geometric sequences, applying the formula to find the n'th term in a sequence, (or geometric means). We also reviewed Arithmetic sequences for upcoming quiz. The student's grade on their final exam was 85, and their report card grade was A."
"We worked on solving inequalities and simplifying expressions with exponents for her math homework. We worked on remembering when to reverse the direction of the inequality sign, and when to add or multiply exponents."
"We went through two review packets for his upcoming midterm. Topics included derivatives, integrals, and their applications (velocity and acceleration, net change, average values)."
"Today we review squares and square roots, scientific notation, real numbers, and the Pythagorean Theorem to study for a math quiz that the student has Friday. I felt like she understood this material well enough to be successful on her class assessment. She also wanted to complete a review for a science test that she was having Friday. She was worried because her teacher gave the class the review just a day before the test. We went through the questions and used her science book as a resource to answer them. She had a positive attitude throughout the session. She received an A on a science assignment that she worked on at our previous session. Based on this session, I believe she should do well on her math quiz and if she studied her science review after I left, then she is prepared for her science exam as well."
"During this session, we spent half of our time studying the different stages of meiosis and mitosis as well as the other half of our session studying the properties of logs. He had a very strong understanding of these concepts and said that he felt very good about a recent exam that he took in Biology and a quiz he took in math."
"The student has covered all of the material necessary for the AP calculus test and will be taking a midterm of a practice AP test. We covered questions that she did not understand from her practice tests in the book. We specifically focused on concavity of functions. While she took another practice test I made an example of a summary of concavity, which included any related theorems and tests. She is answering a majority of questions in practice tests correctly and seems very comfortable with almost all topics that are covered in the AP BC test."
