Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on a homework problem involving the derivative of the relationship between time and the height of a water in a tank when there rate of water flowing in is known. We integrated to find the original functions and also used related rates between the height of the water and the volume in the tank. We also worked on a couple of problems dealing with sequence and series."
"Today was spent reviewing for a quiz the student has tomorrow on direct variation equations and simplifying polynomial fractions. We went over some problems I e-mailed to her mother over the weekend. The student expressed that she felt much more confident with the material when reviewing it over the weekend and in class."
"We started with a pre-algebra lesson on ratios and unit rate. He struggled a bit at first, but did better by the end. We then moved on to life science and worked on the food webs lesson. Good work!"
"In today's session, the student worked on the assignments given to her on rates and proportion. Most of them were word problems which she was doing well with. I also introduced the topic of percentage and worked with her on some basic problems. Homework was given on these topics."
"Today, the student and I went over his homework, consisting of long division of two-digit numbers by one-digit numbers. His recall of the steps and of the sequence of the steps involved in long division has improved and is ~ 80% independent. Keep up the good work!"
"We worked on the student's basic multiplication facts, which he has definitely improved on. We also went over his homework, which was on multiplying fractions with mixed numbers."
