Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I started out the session by watching as the student took a diagnostics test. We then went over the test question by question to see her thought process when she was taking the test. One thing she needed work on most was reading through the questions really carefully. I gave her a section about special triangles to go over in her SAT prep book, as well as 11 drills to have done for next time on geometry for the SAT."
"We spent most of the session discussing the student's physics homework. He continues to work with kinematics, but he has begun using equations instead of graphs. I actually think that this was a good way to present the material as it should enhance general understanding instead of just having people plugging and chugging. The student has a good understanding of the material. We finished the session by completing a practice science section from the ACT. The science section is somewhat different from the other sections in that it is mostly a test of your ability to read graphs and make logical conclusions and extensions. The student did fairly well on this section."
"We then reviewed two math sections that the student completed for homework. He shows good grasp of the content. I then assigned him two writing sections and we will review this next time as we prepare for his upcoming exam."
