"Today's lesson consisted of a review for the student's upcoming exam covering multiple topics including acid/base, solutions, biochemistry, gas laws. We covered various problems and equations performed in real time with an in depth explanation provided, as well as step by step approaches to several equations covering solutions, acids and bases, as well as concentrations and gas laws; all questions were answered. We reviewed biochemistry and discussed the concepts using visual aids. The student showed a good understanding of the material at hand. The student is to continue to study on his own in preparation for exam."
"The student has finished all of his classwork for his physics class, so we are now focusing solely on preparing him for his end of the year test. His teacher has given out some reviews, so we mostly worked on those, plus some extra problems. We did problems dealing with kinematics, projectile motion, and distance or velocity vs time graphs. I think he has a firm grasp of all these topics, so we should be able to move forward on other material next session."
"We began by reviewing the mechanisms we went over last session (dehydration, epoxidation, and halohydrin cyclization). I also asked the student how she thinks her exam went last week, and she seems happy with it, although she has not been informed of her score as of yet. We went over conjugated systems and the Diels-Alder reaction mechanism. We went over the details leading to these ideas including, UV spectroscopy, electron withdrawing/donating groups, dienes, dienophiles, end/exo product rules, HOMO, and LUMO. The student seemed to have a good handle on these ideas. As we ended, I asked her to let me know when she gets her exam back."
