Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed the cell cycle extensively. This included: interphase and mitosis, along with their components and significant events in each part. At the end of the session, the student was able to understand and explain the cell cycle. We ended the session with him writing out the cell cycle."
"The student and I were able to go over the major elements of a frog dissection using a prefabricated plastic model designed to illustrate the major organ systems and physiology. He had excellent knowledge about several of the organs, and we were able to reason through some of the physiological implications of the anatomical structures. Additionally, we looked at pictures of the human heart and compared them to pictures of a frog heart and then pointed out the major differences and similarities. We intend to do a real frog dissection in the near future."
"In this first session, we introduced ourselves and then covered fetal pig organ structure and function, in preparation for his quiz tomorrow. We reviewed the digestive, circulatory, respiratory and reproductive pathways in the pig, applying the organs' structure and function in our discussions. We then ended with a quiz that I had made of the material, and clarified his questions of the material. I suggested several exam strategies as well, and noticed that the student was feeling confident and enthusiastic in this material."
